Discovering the Hidden Gems of Korean Cuisine in Toronto
Daldongnae is a Korean barbecue chain that has taken Toronto by storm, offering a unique and delicious experience that is worth checking out. All photos I will be sharing will be from the Yonge and Cummer location that I frequent.
As soon as you step into the restaurant, you’ll notice the traditional decor with sleek wooden tables and hanging lights that create a trendy and stylish atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they will guide you through the menu, which offers a wide range of meats, seafood, and vegetables.
I always opt for two orders of their thick pork belly and one order of whichever beef I am feeling that day but one of my favourites is their Seoul Style Bulgogi. Another popular item is the beef short rib, which is juicy and full of flavour.
As you grill your own meat at the table, you’ll enjoy the sizzling sound and the mouth-watering smell that will make you crave for more. The restaurant also offers a variety of side dishes, including kimchi, bean sprouts, potato salad, tofu stew, and lettuce which are all made fresh and taste delicious. Another favourite of mine is the cheese and corn combination that they have cooking within your grill that is a star on it’s own.
To complement your meal, you can choose from a variety of traditional Korean drinks, such as soju, makgeolli, or beer. The drinks are served in unique and colorful glasses, adding to the overall experience.
Overall, Daldongnae is a great spot to enjoy authentic Korean barbecue in a trendy and modern setting. It’s perfect for a night out with friends or a family dinner. Don’t miss the chance to visit this hidden gem in Toronto and experience the best of Korean cuisine.
Enjoy!
